Accident
The word “Accident” is no longer used in construction trades as it implies that the unplanned events were random in nature and not preventable. To change this perception OSHA and NYC DOB adopted a new word Incident.
There does not need to be an injury to qualify as an “accident”. A “near-miss” is considered an “incident” and many times has to be reported to NYC DOB. So, no matter how small your project think “Safety First” and avoid SWO’s, large fines and possible jail time by making safety the priority.
